So often, I feel as if my worth can be reduced to a single number. I tend to forget that God sees me as so much more. When I first heard this song a few weeks ago, the line that captivated me was:
“I am all He says I am.”
With this line playing over in my head, I began thinking about what God says I am, and I realized that there is so much more to me than any number could ever indicate. He says that I am His daughter, nothing less than His princess. He says that I am worth more than the most precious gems. He says I am valuable. He says I was created for a purpose. He says compassion and humility are much more important than the traits of physical beauty that the world leads us to believe matter. He says that my beauty radiates from within- the light of the Holy Spirit living in me since the day of my acceptance of the gift of salvation. He never once has said that my worth boils down to a number. He didn’t assign me an ID number at birth to keep track of me by. He doesn’t care about what the scale says. He doesn’t care about how my latest Physics test turned out. He doesn’t care about what the tags on my clothes say. He doesn’t care about how smart my GPA may indicate me to be. None of these numbers are part of who He says I am because the truth is, “I am all He says I am, and He says I am His own.”
