God is with us.
Some late night, Christmas Eve observations/thoughts/ramblings.
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve grown to love the quiet that falls over our house late on Christmas Eve night. It’s not uncommon for me to be the only one awake past ten o’clock on a normal basis, but I find that on Christmas Eve, a special calm and peace finds its way into the atmosphere.
There’s something so magical about Christmas—celebrating the birth of the world’s Savior. The entirety of His life was incredible, but the manner in which He made His way into the world is hard to even fathom. So many elements had to be just so, and Jesus fulfilled all of them. It never ceases to amaze me.
The presents are nice. The family is nice. The fun and cheer is nice. The lights are nice. The tree is nice. The traditions are nice. But Jesus. He beats it all; He is the sole reason we have cause for celebration, and while I do try and bear this in mind throughout the Christmas season, I find that on Christmas Eve I am so incredibly content because He’s here. God is with us, and nothing I say can top that fact.
