At the beginning of the summer, we finally took that promised trip. We spent most of our time on Maui, and a little over a day in Oahu. I had a ball getting some experience with my new 50mm 1.4 lens (which I used almost exclusively to shoot the trip), and today I am finally getting said photos up. But first, a short travel vlog:

Waiting for bags in LA

The golf bags did not make it, so we were stuck at the airport for a while sorting through lost baggage claims and bags which were booked only as far as LA but needed to get all the way to Maui #nonrevlife

The weary travelers

After a short night in LA, we flew out to Maui bright and early. Upon landing, we headed for lunch bc a) very tired and very hangry people and b) we could not check into the condo for a few more hours

Dad had lunch at this same place on a previous trip to Hawaii, and this trip was allll about recreating and revisiting

And obvs had to get dessert after lunch (I mean, this fantastic gelato and coffee shop was RIGHT next door)

We had to choose between zip-lining and snorkeling

Needless to say, we went zip-lining

After this experience, I have decided that the best way to enjoy the ocean is to look down at it from the mountain tops

We zipped with Skyline EcoAdventures: highly recommend!

Sometimes stopping and skidding go hand-in-hand

Cute swimmers curtesy of Kortni Jeane (unsponsored but seriously love them so much and had to share bc cute, modest swimmers can be hard to find!)

Also, I got a lei and felt like an island princess bc I had REAL, LIVE, fragrant FLOWERS around my neck

25 years ago, on their honeymoon, they took pictures with macaws on the streets of Maui

25 years + 2 kids later, we found (who we think was) the same guy and did it again

I do not trust the ocean, especially with my camera, especially at high tide

I love that you may have found the same street vendor with the birds. So glad you had an awesome time!!
